Save Our History-Ask Congress to Increase Funding for the National Archives!
The ARA, in partnership with cultural heritage organizations nationwide, supports a significant increase in funding for the National Archives’ in the 2022 federal budget.
Independently, ARA members diagnosed current NARA funding needs by carefully studying their budget history and the reports NARA’s Office of the Inspector General posts online. We then asked Congress to allocate $30 million in 2022 as a set-aside funding program to address their critical funding shortfalls. The stand-alone funding recommendation prepared by ARA provides a targeted “prescription” we hope will begin to treat the specific “ailments” we identified at the National Archives and increase public access to the government records they hold. Please downloadour document and use it to ask your Senators and House Representative to support increased and targeted funding for the National Archives and its Research Services Division! We need YOU to help NOW by supporting our efforts!
